Komen Advocates in Science

Komen Advocates in Science involves advocates in a variety of scientific activities to ensure that their perspectives are integrated into the dialogue and decisions that affect our progress toward ending breast cancer.

Breast cancer survivors and others affected by breast cancer provide unique and valuable perspectives about the cancer experience, issues that will most influence the lives of those affected by breast cancer, and the urgency of finding cures and ending breast cancer forever.

Grant Writing Workshop: Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

The Southwest Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is presenting a grant writing workshop on Tuesday December 9, from 9:00AM - 12:00PM at the Affiliate Office, 26800 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 150, Bonita Springs, Fl 34134. The workshop is for current grantees as well as potential applicants for our 2009-2010 grant period. Attendance is highly recommended for grant applicants.

The program will begin promptly at 9:00AM. A light coffee break will be provided. The workshop will cover application guidelines, a detailed review of the Komen SWFL request for application, tips for writing a grant proposal for Komen SWFL and opportunities for Q&A.

To be eligible for a grant, you must be a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization providing services in the Southwest Florida Affiliate's service area: Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades and/or Lee Counties. Applications will be accepted for breast health or breast cancer screening, treatment, education, or support projects. Applications must be postmarked by January 16, 2009 for acceptance. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is available on the Grants page of our website at www.komenswfl.org.
