Advocates in Science
Komen Advocates in
Science involves advocates in a variety of
scientific activities to ensure that their
perspectives are integrated into the dialogue and
decisions that affect our progress toward ending
breast cancer.
Breast cancer survivors and others
affected by breast cancer provide unique and
valuable perspectives about the cancer experience,
issues that will most influence the lives of those
affected by breast cancer, and the urgency of
finding cures and ending breast cancer forever.

Grant Process
The Southwest Florida Affiliate of Susan G.
Komen for the Cure® grants year is April 1 -
March 31. Each year a Request for Proposal (RFP)
is posted and an application is made available.
A grant writing workshop is conducted for
previous, current and prospective applicants.
The application deadline is in the beginning of
January. Grants are reviewed by an independent
panel of community reviewers.
